23 of April 2009, Track and Field Nationals Finals, ended.
My final year of representing Catholic High for the National Track and Field Competition ended in a sweet and sour way. 4x100m got DQ-ed, while 4x400m ended in a 4th yet again, the good thing was our 4x400m team broke(I think) the Catholic High all time record.
I hit my PB for 400m today, about 53.5 to 53.6, though it was not that fast as compared to the top runners, I felt that it was quite an achievement for me.
4 years endearment of arduous, inhumane trainings under Teo had also finally came to an end.
I remembered those times when I'm sec 1, I'm super afraid of the 800m cool down, which required us complete under 3.00 minutes, remembered those times when we carried the wheelbarrow, with weights in it, and push it around the track within a certain timing, remembered those times when we pretended to be Santa's reindeers and run with a sledge with weights in it, remembered those times when we did hardcore endurance workouts such as 4x1200m or 2.4km runs, targeted under 9 minutes, remembered those times when we were told to do 20x100m with only 1.15mins interval and if the timing of the run was too slow, that run was not going to be counted.
And so so so much more, such as one legged human wheelbarrow up the stairs, doing farmer's run, bear-walking, doing the sit-back exercise, and the last stretching exercise, 4 2 9.
Time flies, really.
With a blink of an eye, 4 years in CHS track team flew past just like that.
Times spent in joy talking nonsense during training, fear of Teo's hardcore training, sorrow due to lousy results, near-death experiences due to the training, and not forgetting sugar cane juices treats at AMK food centre, haha.
I remembered, hoping this day to come quickly when I no longer need to endure the torturous training and the stress given by Teo. But now, when the day I'm hoping for finally arrived, I feel that there's something missing in me, something dear to me all these while.
These memories will forever be kept vivid in our minds.
We left our mark in the Catholic High Track Team and they have left theirs in our minds, and now it's time we move on and mug for the final exam, the O levels.
Cheers to the batch of '09, and rock on,
The formidable and invincible Catholic High Track and Field Team.
Remember to "Eat Well, Sleep Well, Train Well!"
And for Teo, THANK YOU! =)
